Winners of the 2024 Northern Michigan Women’s Open: Theresa Schultz and Katie Maybank

Congratulations to Katie Maybank and Theresa Schultz, the champions of the inaugural Northern Michigan Women’s Open.

Katie won the Open Division with a 77-82 (159) and Theresa won the Senior Division with an 88-84 (172).

About the Tournament

For 77 years, Cheboygan Golf & Country Club has been home to the Northern Michigan Open, hosting golfers from Michigan and beyond for two days of tournament golf.

In 2024, we were proud to expand the legacy of tournament golf in Cheboygan by hosting the very first Northern Michigan Women’s Open. We hope you’ll join us for year two.

Cheboygan Golf & Country Club was one of the first clubs to be built in Northern Michigan. Since 1922, tradition and quality playing conditions have been hallmarks at the club.

The front nine is primarily a Scottish look with many rolling mounds and few trees to contend with. The back nine has a very picturesque Northern woodlands design, with many of the holes cut out of beautiful pine and hardwood forests.

Cheboygan Golf & Country Club is enjoyable to play because it is not overly long, easy to walk, and has smaller, smooth greens that put an emphasis on your short game.

Take exit 326, go east on Levering Rd. to Inverness Trail (@ 5 miles) turn left on Inverness Trail at your 2nd stop sign turn right. This is Old Mackinaw Rd. Cheboygan Golf & CC is about 1 mile on the right.

From Mackinaw City

Take 23 South to Preis Rd. (@ 12 miles) turn right onto Preis Rd. Take a left on Old Mackinaw Rd. Cheboygan Golf & CC is about 2 miles on your right.

From Cheboygan

Take 23 north towards Mackinaw city. On the outskirts of Cheboygan turn left on Martha Rd., which becomes Old Mackinaw Rd. after ¼ mile. From here it is less than 1 mile to Cheboygan Golf & CC.
